MIKON 2024 CAD Workshops

CAD for Electromagnetic Modelling

Dear MRW-2024 Participants,

due to the ever-increasing role of electrical engineering software, both in academia and industry, we are offering you an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience in electromagnetic modeling through active participation in a series of CAD workshops. The workshops will be offered by leading EM software developers and manufacturers, such as:

  1. Altair (FEKO)
  2. Dassault Systèmes (CST Studio Suite)
  3. EM Invent sp. z o.o. (Invensim)
  4. Keysight Technologies (Keysight EDA System Design – SystemVue)
  5. WIPL-D d.o.o. (Wipl-D)
  6. QWED sp. z o.o. (QuickWave)
  7. Sonnet Software, Inc.

The workshops will be delivered in three consecutive parts:

Part I – Theory

In this part, each presenter (company) will give a brief description of computational methods implemented in the presented software.

Part II – Examples

In this part, each presenter (company) will present an example of application of the software. The focus will be put on the analysis of large electromagnetic problems.

Part III – Hands-on / Live demo

The idea of this part of is to allow all participants (who declare participation in Part III) to actually use the software or at least to take part in a live software demonstration. Therefore, be prepared for installation of a trial version of a CAD software on your own laptop.

PART III CONTENT

Altair (FEKO): only live demonstration (no personal computers needed)

Dassault Systèmes (CST Studio Suite): to be determined soon

EM Invent sp. z o.o. (Invensim): demonstration will be performed by using Invensim software on a laptop personal computer with time limited license.

Keysight Technologies (Keysight EDA System Design – SystemVue): demonstration will provide a hands-on learning experience on Digital Beamforming, RF Phased Array analysis and Antenna Analysis in order to design Phased Array Systems (PAS) keeping many practical aspects of PAS into consideration that designers can use SystemVue platform for their Phased Array System designs with higher degree of confidence.

WIPL-D d.o.o. (Wipl-D): demonstration will be performed by using WIPL-D software suit on a laptop personal computer; at the end of workshop participants will obtain a flesh with 1 month time limited setup of WIPL-D software together with project file used for demonstration, as well as the step-by-step instructions how to create these projects.

QWED sp. z o.o. (QuickWave): demonstration will be performed by using QuickWave software on a laptop personal computer with time limited license.
